On March 14, 2023, Law Roach, a celebrity stylist, published a message on his personal Instagram account announcing his retirement. The image on the post was a white square with the word “RETIRED” written across it in red. Where we really got the scoop was from the post’s caption:
“My Cup is empty… thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. He concluded, Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all.
Then Roach clarified that the politics of the industry, not fashion itself, had driven his choice. If this business was just about clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics, the lies, and false narratives finally got me! You win… I’m out.”

The revelation surprised and devastated his supporters. Roach didn’t mention the “false narratives” or “lies” he has experienced explicitly, but some followers on Twitter and TikTok cited a video from the Louis Vuitton fashion show he and Zendaya attended during Paris Fashion Week.
